Following a successful 2017, the first nine months of 2018 have been equally busy and rewarding. The EUSS team has been hard at work – consulting our clients, writing proposals and giving workshops across Europe!
During the last nine months, EU Startup Services has raised 3 million euros in equity free funding for European startups across 10 countries through the Horizon 2020 SME Instrument. With a €3 billion budget until 2020 to award 7500 startups with up to €2.5 million, the SME Instrument is the largest, most competitive non-dilutive fund in the world.
Our latest success story Woodoo was awarded an SME Instrument Phase 2 grant with one of the highest achieved scores in 2018 – 14.7 out of 15! Congratulations!
Woodoo uses impressive technology that allows to rebuild wood on a molecular level, making it weatherproof, fire-resistant and eco-friendly. How did they do it?
Timothée Boitouzet, CEO of Woodoo explains, “EU Startup Services encouraged us to apply even though we were quite early-stage as opposed to more mature startups that we were competing against.” He added, “EU Startup Services helped us to structure our application in the smartest possible way and was also very supportive during rushing hours and late night work throughout this fortunate experience.”
